Covid-19 Updates

Updated: Friday 16th July, 2021

We hope you are excited by the latest government announcement. From Monday 19 July, 2021 – following the latest Step 4 government update, all University of Lincoln sports and fitness facilities and services will resume normal operations.

As we reach this important milestone in the lifting of covid-19 restrictions, it is essential that we all continue to be vigilant to keep our community safe. Whilst various legal restrictions will lift on Monday – including the limits on social mixing – some of the key on-site safety measures that we have put in place over the past 18 months to reduce the risks of Covid-19 transmission will continue.

Continued Safety Measures

We will keep our one-way system in place with signage to assist in safe pedestrian flows throughout our facility and we will keep our enhanced cleaning regime to ensure a safe environment for our customers. Hand sanitising and cleaning stations will remain available for customers to use and we ask that all customers continue to observe rigorous hygiene practices, particularly regular hand washing and cleaning of equipment before and after use.  Social distancing measures are no longer mandatory, however, we will continue to encourage students, staff and visitors to wear face coverings in all internal communal areas within our facility to ensure we are protecting our community. We ask that respects other peoples choices’ and to give people space when requested.

Student & Staff Asymptomatic Testing

Students and staff accessing facilities on-campus should continue to take twice weekly asymptomatic tests, either through the on-campus Asymptomatic Testing Centre or by ordering home test kits directly from the Government website at https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests. Please remember to report the result of any Coronavirus test (whether LFD or PCR test, and whatever the result) to the University Test, Care and Trace Team using the online form at https://lncn.ac/tct so we can put support in place for anyone who needs it.

NHS Test and Trace

QR codes will continue to be displayed throughout our facility for customers to scan using the NHS COVID-19 app.  Please continue do your part in reducing the spread of coronavirus.
