Fitness Centre

The fitness centre, situated on the first floor of the sports centre, has undergone a fantastic transformation which includes fully air conditioned gym workout area, top of the range life fitness equipment comprising of 35 pieces of cardiovascular equipment, 13 pieces of resistance equipment, free weights, abdominal room and stretching area. The fitness centre also includes a sauna, boxercise suite, cycling studio and aerobics/dance studio.

Alongside top of the range cardiovascular equipment, the gym also has a fantastic view of the Cathedral, Castle and Uphill of Lincoln making the gym a delightful venue to view these spectacular buildings while you train.

Gym Induction

Depending on whether you are an experienced gym user or a complete beginner you may require a gym induction before you are able to use the gym. Our experienced fitness instructors will show you how to use the equipment in an effective and safe manner.

An Induction needs to be booked in person at the Sports Centre reception. These take place every day at various times and start on the hour for an average of 15 minutes and are currently free of charge. You must book for an induction and you can do this by visiting the Sports Centre reception. 

Don’t forget to arrive in, or with, sports kit, £1 for the lockers (you get back afterwards) and arrive 15 minutes before hand to complete the Health check questionnaire. 

Functional Training Induction

An induction specifically for the Free weights section of the gym. This induction is suitable for anyone wanting to learn and understand more about using the free weights. Our instructors can teach you the fundamentals and help you gain new ideas to improve your workout.

Fitness Assessment

Regular fitness monitoring not only keeps a measurable check on your fitness levels, it also helps facilitate programme updates and provides motivational feedback.

Your Sports Centre’s assessment will include:

  • Muscular Strength Test
  • Peak Flow Measurement
  • Aerobic Capacity
  • Flexibility
  • Blood Pressure Tests

Personal Programme

Need someone to help you get that ideal body or ideal weight? Book in a personal programme session with a fitness instructor and they shall sit down with you and provide you with an individualised programme to help you achieve your goal. This will be designed to suit your experience, fitness levels and most importantly help you achieve your goals. It is recommended that you re-book after a few months to make adjustment to continue to improve!

Personal Training (1 – 1)

If you’re lacking the motivation to train book in an hours session with a personal trainer to help re-boot your motivation. These are one to one sessions with our qualified instructors who will assist and help you to train and achieve your session aims.
