The fitness centre, situated on the first floor of the sports centre, has undergone a fantastic transformation which includes a fully air conditioned gym workout area. It is equipped with the latest cardiovascular equipment that allow for iPhone and Android connectivity, for gym users to track their workout. We also have 13 pieces of resistance equipment, free weights and our functional training area. Along side this equipment the fitness centre also includes a sauna situated in the upstairs changing rooms, boxercise suite, cycling studio and aerobics/dance studio.
All our gym memberships are non-contractual, student friendly and hassle free, to suit your needs and preferences.
The gym also has a fantastic view of the Cathedral, Castle and Uphill of Lincoln making the gym a delightful venue to view these spectacular buildings while you train.
Depending on whether you are an experienced gym user or a complete beginner you may require a gym induction before you are able to use the gym. For those new beginners, we advise you book an induction with one of our experienced fitness instructors who will show you how to use the equipment in an effective and safe manner. Making sure you get the best out of your time in the gym.
To book an induction, either pop down to reception or enquire when purchasing your membership. These take place every day at various times and start on the hour for an average of 15 minutes and are free of charge. Don’t forget to arrive in, or with, sports kit, £1 for the lockers (don’t worry, you get it back afterwards)
Functional Training Induction
An induction specifically for the Free weights section of the gym. This induction is suitable for anyone wanting to learn and understand more about using the free weights. Our instructors can teach you the fundamentals and help you gain new ideas to improve your workout.
